This function allows you to import more entries (more rows) into an existing dataset, i.e. if you want to combine two datasets with the same variables but different entries.   We highly recommend defining the variable type in the column header of your import file for a smoother import. See "prepare file for import" for the accepted datatypes and how to define them in your file.

  1. Open the Dataset window in the project you want to import data into

  2. Click on the three dots menu in the right corner

  3. Select "Import dataset" from the dropdown menu

  4. Select "Add more entries to the dataset"

  5. Drag and drop or browse for the file containing the data you would like to add to the original dataset.

  6. In the next step, Ledidi Core will automatically match columns in the dataset you are importing to the variables in the existing project. Only variables where  1) the column heading in the import-data AND  2) the data type of the content of the columns is identical to the defined variables in the existing project, will be automatically matched.  In other cases, where, e.g. the variables are spelt differently in the two datasets, you will be asked to match the variables manually.  You can also create new variables from the imported data or omit variables to be imported. NB: It is not possible to import more data to an existing Time(duration) variable. These have to be entered manually.

  7. When all variables are mapped to either existing or new variables, or omitted, click "Continue"

  8. You will be taken back to your dataset, now containing the added entries.
